Learning to listen to the body and connect with your somatic (body) intelligence.
If you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or like yoga helps, but there’s another piece of the puzzle for you around healing/ wellbeing.. keep following your intuition!
This gentle, experiential workshop offers a missing piece: learning how to listen to your body’s signals and how stress softens more easily in safe, supportive connection. Rather than pushing or fixing, you’ll be guided toward practices that help your nervous system settle naturally.
Expect simple body-based practices and light partner exercises designed to help you feel calmer, more grounded, and less alone in what you’re experiencing.
This workshop is for anyone curious about somatic therapy; navigating stress, overwhelm, or strong emotions; moving through a life transition; or sensing that a gentler, more relational approach to healing may better support. This workshop may be especially supportive for those who feel sensitive, empathic, or easily impacted by stress.
About your teacher, Julie:
I am a somatic-oriented yoga teacher and Hakomi somatic therapist known for creating warm, grounded spaces where people can slow down, feel safe in their bodies, and reconnect with themselves. My work blends mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational healing, with a special attunement to sensitive and empathic nervous systems.
This workshop holds a special place in my heart, as somatic work was the missing piece for me for many years. I found deep support in yoga, nature, and moving my body in many forms, yet still longed for a deeper connection to my body and to others. What I was longing for was a way of slowing down that felt truly doable and sustainable, and a way of connecting with others that allowed for intimacy and vulnerability without oversharing or blurred boundaries.
Through somatic work, and particularly through the methodology of Hakomi, I’ve experienced healing that has been deep, powerful, and at times even joyful. I’m honored to share this workshop with you! You can learn more about me at www.julianneyoga.com.
