MOVEMENT Ecstatic Dance SF - Sunday Morning

MOVEMENT Ecstatic Dance SF is a weekly Sunday morning free-form dance experience at the beautiful Sacred Heart Church in San Francisco's Lower Haight neighborhood.

Schedule

• 10:00 AM — Contact improvisation or yoga warm-up
• 10:50 AM — Opening circle
• 11:00 AM — Ecstatic dance with live DJ
• 1:00 PM — Sound healing and closing meditation

Three Core Guidelines

• Dance barefoot — connect with the ground beneath you
• Dance without words — maintain a meditative, non-verbal space on the dance floor
• Dance as you are — no drugs, alcohol, phones, cameras, scents, expectations, or judgments

This three-hour journey takes you from gentle movement through peak ecstatic expression and into deep restoration. The historic church setting provides a large, open space with soaring ceilings and beautiful acoustics. LGBTQ+ friendly, wheelchair accessible, and welcoming to children of all ages.
