About RYZE Superfoods

RYZE Superfoods sells mushroom coffee. That's their main business. They call themselves the #1 bestselling mushroom coffee in the USA, and they've built a brand around the idea that your morning cup can do more than just wake you up. Their blend is supposed to help with focus, mood, digestion, and immunity. Whether it actually does all that is between you and your gut, but the company has a real following online and they've been expanding into in-person events.

So what's a mushroom coffee company doing hosting yoga classes in Austin? RYZE puts on popup sessions they call "RYZE & Shine Yoga Flow." They brought one to SXSW, which is about the most Austin thing a mushroom coffee brand could do. The format is pretty simple: show up, roll out a mat, do a group flow, and probably get handed a sample of their coffee on the way out.

This is marketing wrapped in a yoga class, and that's fine. Plenty of brands do it. The question that matters is whether the class itself is worth your time. The SXSW popup drew a crowd, which says something about either the yoga, the free coffee, or both. Either way, people showed up and moved their bodies for an hour on a morning when they could have been standing in line for a panel.

RYZE keeps their tone casual and direct. "It starts with just a cup" is their line. No deep philosophy about ancient mushroom traditions. No lengthy founder origin story involving a monastery or a life-changing trip abroad. Just: here's coffee with mushrooms, try it, do some yoga, have a better morning. That kind of plainspoken pitch is unusual in wellness, where everything tends to get framed as sacred or life-altering. RYZE doesn't do that. They sell coffee and throw yoga classes. The simplicity is the whole point.

If you see a RYZE & Shine event listed around town, here's what you're walking into. It's a popup yoga class run by a coffee company. The yoga is the draw. The coffee is the pitch. Go for the movement, grab a sample if mushroom coffee sounds like something you'd drink. Walk past the sample table if it doesn't. You'll get a class out of it either way.

For the coffee itself, they're at ryzesuperfoods.com. For the events, keep an eye on local listings. They tend to appear around festivals and pop up without much advance notice, so following their social channels is probably your best bet for catching the next one.
