Men's circle in Austin focused on honest conversation and community.
Mikaal Bates runs The Kings Code Mens Circle in Austin. It's a men's group built around the circle format, where people sit together and talk without anyone playing teacher at the front of the room. No particular spiritual tradition or methodology is attached to it. Just men showing up and being straight with each other.
Men's circles have been growing across Austin over the past few years, and Bates is part of that. They keep the focus on community rather than curriculum. The circle format does most of the heavy lifting on its own. It gives people a regular space to say what they actually think and hear from others doing the same. No programs to complete, no levels to advance through. You show up, you participate, you go home.
If you want a men's group that doesn't over-complicate things, The Kings Code is one to look into. Bates isn't packaging a self-improvement product. They're holding space for a room full of guys to be real with each other, which turns out to be enough.
