Global Goddess Gathering

At Motherland Music, we gather in rhythm and remembrance, honoring the ancestors whose perseverance shaped our becoming. Like the swallowtail butterfly, we carry both shadow and light in our wings—symbols of transformation, balance, and spiritual passage. Through drum, movement, and community, we create a living bridge between worlds, where joy is sacred, freedom is embodied, and our becoming is an offering to those who came before us.

The Global Goddess Gathering was conceived two years ago at Motherland Music after I began to notice something special. Many of the classes, events, and regular visitors to the shop are women. In many ways, they are the heart and soul of Motherland — the ones who continually support our teachers, show up for special events, and help keep the spirit of the space alive.

With that realization, I wanted to create a special event at Motherland that celebrated and honored the support, wisdom, and inspiration I’ve received from the countless women who have come through our doors. Many of them are artists, drummers, dancers mothers, daughters, grandmothers, and creators in their own right.

Last year, with the help of Lunden, the owner of Motherland Music, we brought that vision to life. We gathered a group of women artists, musicians, vendors, and food creators and brought them together for what we called the Global Goddess Gathering. Women from many different backgrounds and cultures from around the world and locals came together as a community to connect, network, and share in music and rhythm.

It was a beautiful experience to witness everyone sharing their stories, cultures, and lived experiences, discovering the threads that link us all together — a shared love for music, dance, food, storytelling, and the ancestors who came before us.

This year, we are building on that foundation. We want to expand the gathering into an even more intentional and curated experience — one that welcomes the next generation while honoring the ancestors and the women who laid the groundwork for all of us to do what we do today.

Motherland Music has always been more than a shop. It is a place where our passion for music connects with our desire for community, healing, peace, and harmony within ourselves and with one another. Through our music, dances, clothing, food, and stories, we continue to share that spirit with everyone. who walks through our doors.
