Hosted by a poco art
A mini retreat day set within a monochromatic art exhibition, inviting you for a quiet meditation on cause and conditions. A single cup of tea carries an entire chain of relations: rain, soil, sunlight, mountains, the labor of hands, the heat of water, and the breath that receives it. What appears small contains a vast ecology within it.
The program draws inspiration from the Huayan teaching in the Flower Adornment Sutra:
一花一世界,一葉一如來
In a single flower exists an entire world; in a single leaf, a Buddha.
Within this cosmology, every particle reflects the whole universe. Each leaf, seed, and drop of water participates in a wider field of interdependence.
Set within the exhibition environment at a poco art archive, surrounded by artworks and natural forms—leaves, seeds, bodies, rocks, and mountains—this multi-sensory gathering invites participants to slow down and observe these subtle relationships between matter, energy, and perception.
Each session begins with a sound bath using crystal singing bowls, allowing vibration to move gently through the body and settle the mind. Following the sound meditation, tea is whisked and served ceremonially, and participants are invited to drink slowly in contemplation.
The act of drinking becomes a meditation on 因果——the unfolding of causes and conditions that shape each moment. In a small cup of tea, one may glimpse rainstorms, soil, seasons, mountains, and the passage of time.
Between the sound bath sessions, Ibuki Kuramochi—Butoh dancer, multidisciplinary artist, and Reiki practitioner—will offer individual Reiki healing sessions, creating an opportunity for deeper restoration and energetic alignment within the day’s retreat-like rhythm.
In this special realm surrounded by rituals, monochromatic art, peach blossom portals... sound, tea, and stillness create a temporary field of attention in which the body, the artworks, and the surrounding environment resonate with one another. A cup of tea becomes a small universe: a moment where nature, human presence, and time quietly converge.
