ABOUT THE EVENT:
Ecstatic dance is a form of free movement and dance that encourages participants to express themselves freely, without judgment, and to connect deeply with their bodies, emotions, and the music. It’s a practice that often incorporates elements of mindfulness, spirituality, and community connection, allowing individuals to explore movement as a form of release, healing, and self-discovery.
The Musical Journey in Ecstatic Dance is carefully curated to guide participants through a transformative experience, both physically & emotionally. It starts with soft, grounding sounds to help participants arrive and connect with their bodies. The music then builds in intensity, encouraging exploration and free expression, leading to a powerful crescendo where emotions and energy peak. Following the climax, the music gradually softens, guiding dancers back to a calm, centered state for integration and closure. This arc allows for a deep, transformative experience through movement.

Founded in January 2020, Higher-Self Friendly (HSF) is a social enterprise focusing on helping people find a deeper connection to our authentic selves through self love practices, mindfulness, yoga, meditation, self development work, & self expression experiences.
HSF is a network of heart-centered facilitators in the healing, wellness and social justice space. We have a presence in several U.S. cities and continue to expand our reach.
