About Event

Closing Healing Day for Women and Gender Expansive People

Join RPMP and WCJA for an afternoon with guided conversations, healing stations, and a performance from an RPMP Fellow. Open to all.

Participate in guided conversations, visit healing stations, and connect with resources that are tailored for women and gender expansive people who have been directly impacted by the legal system. The event will also include a theater performance by Helen “Skip” Skipper, a Rikers Public Memory Project Narrative Change Fellow. This healing day will close the Rikers Public Memory Project’s exhibition, “Torture Island: Past, Present, Future,” opening Feb. 1st, and is presented alongside the Women’s Community Justice Association. All are welcome regardless of gender identity, but please prioritize the experience and safety of women and gender expansive folks.

This exhibition is funded by Trinity Wall Street. Public programs are funded by the Mellon Foundation. Special thanks to hosts at the Weeksville Heritage Center.

Vendors and speakers to be announced.
